1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites ask your browser to store on your device when you visit them. They are widely used to make websites work, improve efficiency, and provide information to the site owners. Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called "first-party cookies." Cookies set by other companies (for example, analytics or advertising providers) are called "third-party cookies."
Besides cookies, we may use similar technologies, including local storage, session storage, and web beacons (tiny invisible images that track whether you've opened an email or visited a page). For simplicity, we refer to all of these as "cookies" in this policy.
2. Why We Use Them
We use cookies for the following purposes:
- Essential site operation — remembering your admin login, your selected category filter, and similar settings that make the Site work.
- Analytics — understanding how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.
- Affiliate tracking — crediting a purchase to BuyersGuide365 when you click out to a retailer through our links.
- Security — detecting bots and abusive traffic.
3. Types of Cookies We Set
3.1 Strictly Necessary
These cookies are essential for the Site to function. They enable core features such as security, accessibility, and session continuity. The Site cannot work properly without them, so they are always active.
3.2 Performance & Analytics
These cookies collect aggregated, anonymized information about how visitors use the Site — which pages are most popular, how long people stay, which links they click. We use this information to improve the Site. If you prefer, you can opt out.
3.3 Functional
These cookies remember choices you make (such as your preferred category or sort order) and provide enhanced, personalized features. They may also be used to deliver content you have explicitly requested (such as videos).
3.4 Targeting / Advertising
We do not run behavioral advertising on BuyersGuide365. We do not use Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, or similar third-party ad-tech that tracks you across other websites. The only "targeting" cookies we use are affiliate cookies, which credit a purchase to us after you click through — see Section 6 below.
4. Specific Cookies We Use
Here is a current list of the cookies that may be set when you visit buyersguide365.com. We update this list regularly as the Site evolves.
| Cookie / Storage | Purpose | Type | Lifespan |
|---|---|---|---|
| bg365_admin_session | Keeps you signed in to the admin panel so you don't have to re-enter the password on every action. | Strictly Necessary | Session |
| bg365_filters | Remembers your category and sort preferences so the page renders the way you left it. | Functional | 30 days |
| bg365_search_history | Remembers recent searches so you can quickly re-run them. You can clear this anytime. | Functional | 30 days |
| bg365_analytics_opt_out | When set, indicates you have opted out of analytics tracking. Stored locally. | Functional | 1 year |
| plausible_ignore (if applicable) | Set by Plausible Analytics when you have opted out of analytics. We do not record visits in this case. | Functional | 1 year |
| __cf_bm (Cloudflare) | Cloudflare bot management cookie. Distinguishes humans from bots; no personal data stored. | Strictly Necessary | 30 minutes |
| AWSALB / AWSALBCORS (if used) | Load-balancing cookies set by our hosting infrastructure. No personal data. | Strictly Necessary | 7 days |
5. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on our Site are set by third parties whose services we rely on:
- Cloudflare — provides DNS, security, and bot-management for our domain. Their privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
- Let's Encrypt — provides SSL/TLS certificates. They do not set cookies.
- Privacy-respecting analytics (such as Plausible or self-hosted Matomo, if and when we enable them) — sets first-party cookies only and does not track users across sites.
We do not embed any third-party advertising or social-media tracking pixels.
6. Affiliate Cookies
When you click a "Buy on Amazon," "Check Price," or similar affiliate link on our Site, the destination retailer may set a cookie on your browser. These cookies allow the retailer to credit BuyersGuide365 with the referral if you complete a purchase within a certain window. Here is what that means in practice:
- Amazon Associates: A 24-hour cookie is set when you arrive at Amazon via one of our affiliate links. The cookie does not contain your name, email, or any personally identifying information — just a referral ID and timestamp.
- PartnerBoost (and similar networks): Most merchants in this network use a 30-day cookie. Same principle: a referral ID only, no personal data.
- You can always choose to visit a retailer directly without using our link — your purchase price will be exactly the same.
- Affiliate cookies do not collect data from your other browsing on the retailer's site, and they expire automatically at the end of their window.
For more about how Amazon handles data, see the Amazon Privacy Notice.
7. How to Manage Cookies
You have several options to control or delete cookies:
7.1 Browser controls
All modern browsers let you block or delete cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the Site.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Preferences → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
7.2 Mobile device controls
iOS and Android both let you limit ad tracking through system settings. On iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android: Settings → Google → Ads.
7.3 Opt-out of our analytics
If we have enabled analytics and you would like to opt out, you can email us at privacy@buyersguide365.com and we will record a local "do not track" preference on your browser for that device.
8. Do Not Track (DNT)
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" feature that signals to websites that you do not want to be tracked. We respect DNT signals: when we detect DNT is enabled, we do not set analytics cookies, and we do not load third-party tracking scripts.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. If the changes are material — for example, if we add a new category of cookies — we will display a prominent notice on the Site and/or notify subscribers by email.
